The congregations of Bendochy and Coupar Angus Abbey invite you to join them for worship and fellowship each Sunday morning.
Whether you live in the community or are simply here on holiday or visiting family and friends, a warm welcome awaits.
We meet in Bendochy Church each Sunday at 10.00am and in the Abbey Church at 11.15am
Communion
I will lift up the cup of salvation and call on the name of the Lord… Ps. 116:13
Communion Services usually take place in both churches during the last two Sundays in the months of April and October and these will be intimated in the intimation sheets, newsletter and website beforehand. There is also a Communion Service during Holy Week.
Special Services
Easter
During Holy Week we have a Maundy Thursday Communion Service in the Abbey Church at 7.00pm and a Good Friday Service in Bendochy Church also at 7.00pm. Then on Easter Sunday we have services as normal at 10.00am in Bendochy and 11.15am in the Abbey Church.
Christmas
On Christmas Eve there is an early evening service in Bendochy at 7.00pm and then we have the Watchnight Service in the Abbey Church at 11.30pm. Then on Christmas Day we have a short Family Service in the Abbey Church at 11.00am.
Baptism Services
Let the children come to me…for the Kingdom of God belongs to such as these…Luke 18:16
In the Sacrament of Baptism the love of God is offered to each one of us. In the case of Child Baptism the Church would expect at least one parent, or close family member, to be a member of the Church, or to express a desire to be so and the Sacrament would usually take place during Sunday Worship before the congregation emphasising the welcome into the Body of Christ. Should you wish to have your child Baptised, please contact the Minister who will be happy to discuss it with you.
Marriage Services
‘Let all that you do be done in love’…1 Cor. 16:14
We thank you for choosing our church and hope you both find this information useful as you plan your Wedding Day together. For further information please do not hesitate to contact the Minister to arrange a meeting, at which all the arrangements, fees etc. will be discussed.
Flowers
Flowers are normally placed in the church on the morning of the wedding, however should you like them to be in place on the day before see the Minister. Flower arrangements can be left in the church until after the Sunday service, however if you wish to remove your displays before Sunday this must be done no later than 5pm on Saturday.
Civil Requirements
Marriage Schedules should be collected from the Registrar approx 6-8 weeks before the date of the wedding and returned, completed, to the Registrar no later than 4 weeks before the wedding. The Schedule should then be uplifted 7 days before the wedding and brought to the wedding rehearsal along with the appropriate fees.
Wedding Rehearsal
This will normally take place at 7pm on the evening before the wedding.
